The right spelling is "monkeys". π English can be tricky as it doesn't always follow uniform rules. Normally, you'd see 'y' changed to 'i' before adding 'es' but "monkeys" is an exception. In the case of words ending in 'ey', the 'y' is retained before adding 's', hence we use "monkeys" for the plural of monkey.
