The word 'sigh' in past tense is 'sighed.' Just like a wave collapsing onto the shore, the stress of the day collapsed as you 'sighed' out your worries. When you want to talk about something that happened in the past, we often add -ed to the end of regular verbs, and that's what we do with the word 'sigh.' From 'run' to 'ran' or 'jump' to 'jumped,' the English language has a way of time traveling by simply changing the verb tense. In the case of 'sigh,' when that long, deep breath full of emotion was released in the past, it 'sighed' its way out.
